oh brother
it is too late for me but save youselves. i have bought brother for about ten years because they were reliable, easy, and cheap to run. BUT this model is my last one. It is flakey, it is expensive to feed, and it uses all the colour toner up even when you are printing BW. And when ANY of the colour cartridges are out you cannot even print BW. And now it has started saying 'no toner' when new toner in. And after finally getting it to accept new toner, it just will not print, just says busy. i have bought an HP.

Ink Rip Off
Brother printers stop when the low ink alarm comes up and there no way to continue no mater how much ink is left. You have to go and get a new cartridge. This is a real pain. HP gives you the option of what to do when low ink comes up including continue. Do Not Buy a Brother Printer!!!

Disappointment
I purchased this machine to replace an old mono laser and an equally old ink jet printer.
It is a vast improvement on the old mono printer and the colour seems perfectly adequate for my needs.
However, after setting it up, I couldn't seem to find a print preview option. There were numerous print settings to choose from but no way of seeing what they would look like.
I contacted the Brother help desk to see if the option was hidden somewhere obscure and they told me to download the drivers off the internet and the option would be there. I did this and still no print preview.
After contacting the help desk again they did some further research and informed me that this model does not have the print preview option in the drivers.
This may not bother some people, and is a fairly minor glitch in what otherwise seems to be an excellent machine, but I shall be exchanging it for a model which does have print preview.
